From Davide's incredible culinary skill to Matteo's attention to detail in managing the restaurant and rooms, to Claire's design vision, we all work together to create a unique and unforgettable experience.
We are a family-run restaurant and boutique hotel located in Cerro di Laveno, a beautiful and picturesque village on Lago Maggiore. Opening the restaurant in October 2021 after refining his skills at top-notch restaurants around the Varese and Lecce, Davide quickly realized the enormity of the task and asked his brother Matteo and sister-in-law Claire for help. Moving back to Italy after 10 years abroad living in Paris and Copenhagen, Matteo and Claire brought their respective experience in hospitality and architecture to renovate the rooms and restaurant before a second inauguration just 6 months later.
After graduating from Scuola di Cucina of Varese, our chef Davide Gasparini refined his skills at the Vecchio Convento and the Borgo degli Artisti before moving south to Puglia to work alongside top chefs in Michelin starred restaurant Bros' in Lecce. In 2021 he realized his dream of opening his own restaurant, La Dama del Porto, in his native Varese.
Head of Hospitality, Matteo, returns to Italy after over a decade abroad in France and Denmark to bring an international touch to customer service at La Dama. Managing the front of house in the Ristorante and rooms Matteo will ensure you have an enjoyable stay in Cerro.
Claire Kimball Johnson is an architect and strategist holding a master's degree in Strategic Design & Entrepreneurship from the Royal Danish Academy and Copenhagen Business School. Working on projects in the US, Italy, France, and Denmark, her architecture practice focuses on residential renovation, helping homeowners balance affordability, sustainability, and cultural heritage conservation.
